APL is a youth participatory action research project where young people of Lawndale begin "unlearning Cermak."

We are currently building our APL experience- along with youth input- for early 2026 and are excited for even more partnerships to bring the research ALIVE. Through investigating their own lived experiences with a Folded Map approach, youth will create artivism works for the One Lawndale Youth Archive and for public displays that the community can engage with!
Last year, APL delivered a fantastic 9 week cohort experience, with youth from both sides of Cermak. Together we learned a lot!
We are currently constructing the One Lawndale Youth Archive. The first installment of this archive will include all of the students in the Activism project of Lawndale inaugural cohort.
