Racial Healing Pilot

12 Lawndale Youth. 24 hours together. Powerful, deep work facilitated by Maraliz Salgado based on the F.L.Y.L.I.B.R.E. framework, aimed at dismantling the systemic ways we internalize racism, offering visions of unity & solidarity between black and brown people, and practicing affirming ways to practice both collective healing and individual liberation.

Racial Healing Pilot

The work of our Racial Healing Cohort, based on the F.L.Y. L.I.B.R.E. framework and liberatory approach, will become the heart of OLAAI's critical youth development method. 


Racial Healing sessions were held at Principle Barbers 6/24, 6/25, 6/26, 7/1, 7/2, 7/3 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Youth were be trained in Racial Healing circle keeping and had additional opportunities to practice their skills leading youth in 1 Lawndale Children's Discovery Center youth advisory group. YES!
